A bird's eye view of a prototype: Union Railroad
Posted by tstage on Saturday, May 11, 2024 10:17 PM

Ran across these two short but fascinating videos on the Union Railroad (Pittsburgh, PA) on YouTube this evening:

The Best Steel Mill Railroad Past & Present! Union Railroad Part 1

The Best Steel Mill Railroad Past & Present! Union Railroad Part 2

I'm not sure how legal it is to fly a drone close to or around a steel mill or its facilities.  However, it really gives you an interesting and engaging vantage point for modeling a prototype.  I also appreciated the narrator's commments.

Enjoy!

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.

I wonder if anyone has tried to model the slag dumping as seen at the end of part 2 ?
