Norfolk Southern has built some with Cabs (using old GP38s). </p> <p><a href="http://www.nsdash9.com/rosters/700.html">http://www.nsdash9.com/rosters/700.html</a></p> <p>The generators in the mother unit(s) supply one or both of the truck mounted traction motors, depending on how the individual unit is equipped. It cannot be connected to a factory supplied cab equipped locomotive, unless it was ordered that way, I dont think EMD/GE are in the slug business anymore, just like they are not in the non-cab equipped booster business. </p>
