D&H Question
Posted by NYVTRR on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 11:14 AM

Did the D&H ever deliver corn syrup tank cars to a corn syrup facility?  If not would they have delivered that type of product to some other food industry?

Thanks

In my mind, a factory making corn syrup would be located in an area where corn was grown, so corn could be brought to the factory by truck. Then the corn syrup would be shipped by rail to a food or beverage company to use in their products.

So...I certainly could be wrong, but given where the D&H was geographically I would doubt they served an industry that made corn syrup. I would however guess that they served industries that received corn syrup by rail.

It would appear to be yes, have a look at the third answer on this thread, and perhaps a look at Mr. Maggi’s blog may give more information.
