Just click on the link that Ed has provided, then scroll down.....the pictures you want aren't all that far down.

I must be missing something, I've worked through the first six pages and not seen a Southern 4-8-2 on a freight.  I've seen 4-8-2's by themselves, coupled to other engines, and on passenger trains but not on a freight.  So what Iam I missing?

There's one on freight on page 7, abvout half-way down the page.  The next page or two after that show lots of the same locomotives, but all either alone or on passenger trains.

On the same page (I think) is a photo taken from the roof of a boxcar, of the fireman putting water in the tender....the train is obviously a freight, but nothing to indicate the wheel arrangement of the locomotive.

The only other freight I saw in this album of locomotives, was a nice-looking Consolidation, pulling a Southern Su boxcar and a caboose.

If you're a fan of the Southern, you'll be familiar with the Su, as the Southern took delivery of almost 15,000 of them between 1922 and 1926.

Here's one that I made, starting with a Model Die Casting 36' doublesheathed boxcar...
