Have been fascinated by "The Loops" since I read the story in the September 2020 issue of TRAINS. Even the author and editor, Jim Wrinn, said "It's a model railroad come to life." I would like to create a model railroad of it, and am trying to learn as much as I can about it. I have joined the Southern Railway Historical Association. Interested in ETT, track charts, division, subdivision and history of construction. Everything you need to build a model railroad. 13 miles of railroad in just 3 air miles! Thank you in advance,
Mike Coppage, Saint Louis, Mo.
I am not familiar with the "The Loops" but, there is a DVD produced by a company DBA T&W Productions that covers the loops of the old Southern Railway between Old Fort and Swannanoa, NC. One seller is Railfan Depot, if you are interested.
I don't know much about the Old Fort Loops, but I have watched a number of videos by YouTuber "NSmodeler24". I think he models the area in the moderns era. May be worth look at if you're gonna model that area.
Good luck with your plans!
Regards, Isaac
I model my railroad and you model yours! I model my way and you model yours!
