Proper Railcrane
Posted by FRRYKid on Sunday, February 16, 2020 11:55 AM

Got yet another question for my Forum friends: Would a Tyco 250 ton be a proper crane for a 70s era railroad? I really don't need any more cars but I probably should have more maintenance cars. As usual, thank you for any assistance that can be provided.

I'm uncertain of the date I took these photos, but it would have been in either the '70s or '80s...

Yes.. Remember,it's diesel powered not steam powered so,a MOW tank car full of diesel fuel would be needed.

Gee, Wayne, I'd forgotten they often worked in pairs!  (Wouldn't that be impressive on a model railroad: two cranes, with attendant work cars!  'Course, it would depend upon the size of the model RR and the cost of the cranes...)
