Dear fellow train fans,
I recently read a wikipedia post that suggests green boilers and red roofs may have been more common on the SP than typically thought.

Being that colored photos from that era are hard to come by, does anyone know which locomotives in the 1920s potientially wore these paint schemes? Or, did all locomotive types use those colors?
For example, is it possible that an SP Mikado could have had a green boiler early in it's career?

Judging from Hope I interpret the Wikipedia article it is refering to SP 0-6-0 switchers in passenger terminals. It’s hard to say, after all this is Wikipedia, and anyone can edit the article making a lot of potential for errors.
Perhaps you may want to try a more reliable source, try the Southern Pacific Historical and Technical Society (I think that’s what it’s called...). They will have much more reliable information and likely possess pictures of the locomotives in question.
Also there are a few SP modelers in the forum, perhaps the “bump to the top” will get the attention of someone with more knowledge.
