I don't know that many in here can help since this is European model.

.

I did not know what it was, but now that I Googled it, I kind of want one. I see possibilities for a neat model conversion here.

Firstly I will inform you that I have ZERO knowledge of next to anything British!

A quick google search made it apparent that these two switchers (shutters for you weird Brits I suppose) are quite similar. A quick glance revealed to me that the frame is similar, the hoods quite close, but there are noticable differences between the cabs and the smoke stacks. Hope you find more info. Even a quick comparison of photos of the two could give you a good idea of what detail need changing.

Good luck!

Regards, Isaac

I had to join the crowd in a Google search, and see just what you want to do.

I guess you would start by comparing pictures,  searching for the parts you need, OR getting the materials you'd need to scratch build what you can't buy.

I have no idea what kind of details parts are availiable for a locomotive like this.

It looks like the bulk of the work will include the cab, and some work on the hood, and the stack.

It looks like a great build, keep us posted on your progress!

Check out :

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_03

The most visible differences are the cab front windows and the raised area of hood just in front of the cab. The exhaust stacks varied on both types so you should select the stack that suits the particular unit you want to model.

Why not just model the Class 04. You could also buy a Bachmann model of the 03 ready to run. I have two Bachmann 03s.
