  Hi,

What size of wheels would a well car take?

A "stand alone" well car for a 53' container would take 36" wheels.  So it depends what you have.

Get your dial caliper out and measure. Also Google it.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.

Keep in mind that on the great majority of articulated sets, the wheelsets in the center trucks are larger than those on the ends.

Yes, this is true. On articulated sets, the inner trucks use 38" wheelsets. You can tell which ones when the well cars have "125T" on them. The reason for this is that the articulation joint of the wellcars bears the weight of both units, and thus the load bearing is heavier for the inner trucks than the outer trucks.

The outer (end) trucks use either 33" or 36" wheels.
