Seems paint colors has been a popular topic lately, so I'll add my question to. Though I'm not to close to being ready to paint I will be heading to the Amherst Show, so may find the colors I need there.
Am looking for the colors used along the Rutland to Bennington line. It's been over 60 years since I looked at the old station and wasn't color matching then. I doubt it is still in it's original rr colors.
Thanks for the help,
Richard
Richard, I know nothing about the Rutland, but I do really like old stations, so I did a quick look around and found this:
Mike.
My You Tube
you might try contacting the rutland historical society.
Nice station Mike, but a far cry from the simple ones along this line. I have seen a similar one on the other side of the state, I think.
Will check with them at the show j.c. The time I checked with one of the members, he was unsure. I think he was a bit too young.
Thank you both,
The one I posted was at Bennington. While searching, I did see lots of smaller stations. The colors were close to this, but much more faded and neglected.
Good luck at the show.
Mike,
Thanks for the update. I lived in Bennington for a few years in the 50's, but not close to the station. My railfanning spot was along Rt 7 and about all I saw was rails and ties. The station at Manchester, the one I'm most familiar with, was a wooden structure, as was the small one in N. Dorset..
Thanks again,
found this one on fallen flags site its been restored so don't know if its true colors http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/rut/rut-brain-sta-a.jpg
j.c.,
That's more like what I remember, now to find what the colors are called or at least a close color match.
Thank you,
