i know that microscale's micro-sol (the stuff in the red bottle) works great for removing the letters and numbers on Athearn genesis locomotives. you might give it a try on their rtr stuff. with micro-sol, you dont have to worry about ruining the paint like you do with alcohol. <br /> <br />what you do is pool some over the numbers and let it soak for 15-20 minutes. add more to keep them wet when it starts to evaporate. then try lightly scraping with a flat blade. when they have soaked long enough, they will peel off just like decals.
