You guys might not know about this.

20 years ago I entered a talk show call in contest, nothing to do with model railroading but the host was a scriptophily collector and he was giving away a 100 year duration railroad bond.

Many of these bonds and stock certificates have engravings of old steam locos and would make a nice addition to the train room.

Some of these are fallen flags that you have ever heard of.

This is one I randomly picked out for sale on Ebay, not the cheapest, not the most expensive and I have no affiliation with the seller

Well I'll be!  I guess this gives me a good reason to save my stock certificates from the WC, Wisconsin Central.

When the CN take-over was complete, the CN wouldn't roll our stocks in CN, they sent us a check, for the exact amount we originally paid for the WC stocks, even though the WC stocks had split, a couple of times!

I always like to quote Garfield the cat at times like this: "They should be drug into the street and shot."

I have about 140 old railroad stock certificates. They are history and works of art. I have mostly eastern roads, most many people have not heard of, but are parts of larger systems now. Most of the time their trackage still exists and is still in use.I teach railroad history and I use these as displays. Right now I have a display going on and I have the stocks showing the evolution of the railroad in the particular town I am displaying in. The certificate that you picked to show is gorgeous. That is a low price compared to some. Some can go for $100 or more.
