I am looking at an Oct 27, 1959 timetable from the New Jersey & New York RR (Erie). The front cover has on the front "LOCAL TIME" in large, bold print. A 1949 LIRR timetable says trains operate on Eastern Standard Time except during the period when Daylight Savings Time is in effect.
This thread reminds me of what happened to me a few weeks back when I was riding The Lake Shore Limited and forgot to change my watch to central time when I got to Chicago and wondered why the train was an hour late!

BigJim gregc what happens when a train has a scheduled stop at one station at 2 a.m. and a stop at another station at 3 a.m. It would seem that needs to be at two different stations at the same time. Take some time to think about it. It really is no problem.
