Can I get a better image of this shelter?
Posted by SBX on Sunday, August 27, 2017 4:12 AM

In an e-mail recently, MR told me of an article from "Small town railroading in the early 1950s". The platform on the left of the picture looks very much like the one on my railroad. Here is the bit I am interested in and also the one on mine.

Can anyone point me at a plan or an image of one similar to the one in Corning, Iowa as per the top image as this looks to be more like  it should be rather than the small shelter that I have scratchbuilt?

Thanks in advance.

I did a Google Image Search and came up with a bunch of pictures.

Walthers has a passenger platform kit.

I put a shingle roof a Walthers kit to match my passenger station.

I used Campbell’s 800-210 shingles on the roof.

I found those but they are a bit big for my little wooden platform. I was hoping to find that the one in my photo fitted better. I guess I will have to "freelance" it!

Atlas has a platform shelter similar to the one offer by Walthers, but it's a bit lower...

...and, like the Walthers version, is available separately.
