Modeling HO with a transition era UP bent
According to Wikipedia (The Free Encyclopedia) the most powerful would be the third generation GTEL "Big Blow" locomotives!
What would be the most powerful single unit UP turbine? I found the answer myself upon rereading the Wikipedia article it would be the Veranda Turbine! I asked this question because technically a SD-35/DD-35/DD-35/SD-35 lashup is a single locomotive because they are operated together as one! And therefore the DDA40X is not the most powerful.

I simply answered my own question so I would not waste your time. And I would guess you would answer my questions so that I may get prototype information from a person more knowledgable when it comes to the prototype!
Also thanks Ed for the reply about UP #80 but I am looking for a locomotive that I can find in HO sadly there aren't any reasonably detailed/priced models out there to my knowledge. I probably should have been more specific on the criteria of my questionI therefore apologize for not being more specific in my question.
