And some modelers complain that they have to clean casting flash off their ready-to-run models Whistling.

Proof once again that the, "Romance of the rails,' is hard, dirty, dangerous work.

A hearty, "WELL DONE," from this long-ago Merchant Marine cadet.

Cisco Kid:

To me, seeing the work in progress is thrilling, literally! To think that such a beautiful engine is being restored so carefully is heart warming.

If you want my My 2 Cents worth, I vote for the green, black and gold colour scheme. I think that speaks more to the era when the F series engines were in their prime.

Regards,

Dave

P.S.

Just made a small donation to the WCRA.

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!

Zebra stripe is my two cents.  I always liked seeing F-Units working long past their original run.

Then again, I'm from north of Chicago, where Metra had Es until the 1990s.

I vote for the original 1957 "Green, Yelow and Black" paint scheme. If that can help you make a decision.

NOTE: According to the Canadian National Railways Historical Society site and the book Canadian National Railways Diesel Locomotives Volume One, the 6520 engine is not a F7P but a GMD FP9A. According to those sources, CNR didn't have any F7A in passenger service.

Edit:

Sorry. I didn't realize this post was an old one.
