Renumbering N scale H/W baggage/express cars
Posted by Dragoon 45 on Monday, November 30, 2015 10:20 PM

I need to renumber a couple of N scale Microtrains ATSF H/W baggage cars.  I also need to renumber a PRR baggage car.  So far I have been unable to find out what set of decals I need.  I have looked at Micro-scale, but from the description of the decals am unsure if they have the correct set.  All I could find listed described the decals as for H/W sleepers or smoothside baggage cars.  Can anyone point me to the correct decals/manufacturers?

Thank you.

Since no one has answered your question I will offer an opinion
Railroads used one font for everything. Decals for PRR baggage cars are period specific. Pennsylvania spelled out and numbers on each end of the side
In 1957 they switched to the PRR keystone as a cost saving measure. Most PRR baggage cars were B60b. See Walthers web site for pictutes and placement. I would suspect that for the ATSF cars if the color and size is close most people will ever notice. I would need a microscope at my age to even see them

It appears to me that 60-1043 would work for the Santa Fe, and 60-1141 would work for the Pennsy.

How is it that you decided that those would not work for you?

I was using the Walthers Catalog as a reference, and it does not mention 601043.  Is this decal set an old one that would not be referenced in that catalog?  I can't get on Microscale's web site for some reason and was forced to use Walthers as a source to look up the decal sets available.

No, it is not old.  I have no idea why Walthers would not post this information.  Nor do I know why you can't get on Microscale's website.

Nevertheless, those decal sets look very promising.

Microscale website   http://www.microscale.com/

I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.

I don't have a leg to stand on.
