Thanks
Steve
Im not 100% sure about this one, its been a long time since I studied the WPR, but if memory serves the blue is called "Confederate Blue". How much of a misnomer is that!!!

Anyway, C&O Enchantment Blue is a pretty good match for the blue used by the A&WP, WofA, and Georgia. I'm not sure it's an exact match, but it's close.

Well, actually, some Northern forces (for example, the 7th New York) started the War wearing gray, while many Southern units wore blue. Also, it seemed as if every time the Confederates overran Harper's Ferry, they showed up at the next battle wearing blue clothing. That couldn't have gone over too well in Washington! Thanks gents, enchantment blue it will be.
As regards Southern troops wearing Northern uniforms, they were probably better quality.
When my Grandson served in the British Army in Iraq and Afghan, the first thing they did was commandeer a landrover, stock it up with booze and cigs, and drive over to the nearest U.S. base and swap the booze and fags for combat boots-better than ours, see!
Supply and demand
Thanks again
