Reply To Turners Falls Thread

I Don't have a reply button on your post so I have to make a new thread. IT team must be on vacation today! I tried in IE and Chrome.

I have lots of information on B&M and B&A railroads and I could not find any Turners Falls in those timetables...

Turns out that Turners Falls branch was on the New Haven! That explains a few things...

Do some Google searching, there is quite a bit there concerning the branch and the present day bike trail and bridge over the Connecticut River.

I remember this branch from our railfanning days on our way to or from B&Ms East Deerfield yard . A few times we saw a switcher moving cars to or from  a mill complex can't recall if they had a caboose. Part of the route ran through a golf course. It is my understanding that it is what was left of a former New Haven line.that the B&M took over after NH cutbacks.

When you get to the home page on the far right is a column that lists resources .About 3/4 of the way down the list Click on the item that says

MAP OF THE NEW HAVEN RR/NHRHTA PUBLICATIONS BY LINE

it will bring up a page titled

MAP OF
THE NEW HAVEN RAILROAD/
NHRHTA PUBLICATIONS BY LINE

click on the highlighted line that says

A larger map of the New Haven Railroad, from a 1929 train schedule, can also be viewed.

this will bring up the large map that you can use .

Move your cursor to a point on the map and click it will bring up a list of NHRHTA publications and any Shoreliner magazine articles that relate to the point you click on. On the first page with a small map is a list of Shoreliner articles on equipment and a link to sales page and list of currently available Shoreliners.

You can read the forum but not post .If you wish to post you have to join the forum ,this does not require membership in NHRHTA.

Of course if you have a big interest in New Englad railroads consider joining the New Haven Railroad Historical and Technical Association (NHRHTA.org) and the Boston and Maine Railroad Historical Society (B&MRRHS.org)
