Hello all. Does anyone know if there were Climax Class "A" locomotives in Canada? In Eastern Canada? Any information about location, type and sources of information would be useful. Thanks.
I looked quickly through this list of Class A owners and only saw a few that went to British Columbia:

Hey that's great. I've seen that site before but I guess I never got to that page. I see that there was one in BC (with a picture - bonus!). It appears they never made it in the eastern parts of Canada, which is kind of odd considering the presence of the Class As in the eastern parts of the US. I know there were Class B's and other geared steam (shays and heislers) in the eastern provinces of Canada, I just find it strange that the Class A's popped up in BC. Maybe the larger distances, hills and trees made the need for mechanization more pressing, who knows. Thanks for taking the time for searching this.
Sorry; very few survived anywhere.
