My wife requested I build a depot for the G scale in the back yard. I found one from the July 2011 Model Railroader that would look good for what she wants. I am building this stick by stick and cutting my own wood from cypress. My problem are the windows. I cant find any already built, so I will make them also. So the problem are the sizes. What are the sizes of windows for this depot? Thanks
Is this the Station, you are referring to?

Yes, that is the plan featured in the July, 2011 issue of MR magazine.
There are several sources for pre-built G scale double hung windows, including Grandt Line, Simpsons, and Stoneworks.
Of course, those double hung windows are each 9 pane windows, so you may have to settle for something close like 6 pane windows.
As far as sizing the windows is concerned, like everything else with these drawings, you will have to calculate the exact measurements for G scale or just settle for the dimensions of the pre-built windows.

I've built several garden RR structures from scratch, and as you have apparently found, one is almost compelled to make some compromises. My garden railroad is 1:20.3, but the majority of "G" items tend to be "somewhere in the neighborhood" of scale. Window frames are complex and difficult, but that can be balanced by the fact that most folks are viewing the garden railroad structure from some distance away. Those viewers also aren't likely to know the specific prototype modeled, and thus are not likely to comment that the windows are only 36" while on the prototype they were "42 inches". Credible works; or at least has to work if one isn't constructing an exact museum piece.
I think that Grandt Line has a number of window and door castings that should be of use. These are ones made in their 1:24, 1/2" Scale line. They have an 8-pane window #3930, a 4-panel door #3936, a 4panel door with transom #3940, a 4-pane window #3913, and a smaller 8-pane double hung window #3932. These have been useful to me in my construction (the Terrapin Station, modeled after Mt. Princeton, CO, shown on my avatar used these castings).
The 1:24 scale doors are indeed a little small for 1:20.3 people, but if I don't pose a tall 1:20.3 character directly by the door, no one notices the difference as our brains make an adjustment if things are reasonably close.

Lou,
If that is indeed, the Station, that you are talking about, on page two of the link, that I sent, in the user's comments, the Author of that drawing, discuses' ,how you may get full size plans for it. There may have been others, in that same section, who may have other source's, to acquire, window's and such. I did not read, all of them. I was thinking, maybe doll house, supplier's.
Edit: I meant, to say, full size plans, for the scale you need.

Frank, that is a good point. Doll house suppliers would be another good source.
Here is one such source.

Yes, that is the depot I am building. I think I'll make my windows from scratch. I am thinking the baggage door is 6', the other doors would be 3' and the most of the windows would also be 3'. It shouldn't be that hard to make windows and doors if I build a jig first. I did a lot of scratch building in N scale so this shouldn't be that difficult if I just take my time.
