Autorack Plans?
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, July 18, 2004 11:19 PM
I was told by several people that Kalmbach published the plans for some modern Autoracks. Not sure if they were 2 or 3 level but I'm interested in plans for some enclosed cars. If you know of the plans and know what issue they were in, it would be a great help so I can order the it...

Thanks, Jon.

Jon,
Did a search at the Index of Magazines and there were some 50 citations:
http://index.mrmag.com/tm.exe?opt=S&cmdtext=autorack&MAG=ANY
Sort through them, then contact:
customerservice@kalmbach.com
for photocopies of the MR articles. For the other articles, contact:

In the December 1998 issue of Model Railroader there are drawings of tri-level autoracks. And in the December 1999 issue of Model Railroader there are drawings of the Auto Max carrier.

Bob, I've done the index look-up but I've never been able to tell if it's what I wanted or not.

Guilford, I'll check into the December 98 issue.

Thanks guys.

Correction:

That should be the November 1998 issue, not December.

Sorry!

. . . .

Jon,
Can't speak for Kalmbach's Customer Service, but do know from personal experience that you'll find Brent Lambert at the NMRA's library very cooperative. You could give him all the citations and specify that you want only those articles that show tri-level autoracks or Auto Max, for example.
