Pulpwood loader pictures?
Posted by OldArmy94 on Thursday, June 10, 2004 10:12 PM
Hello all,

I am planning to model a pulpwood loading yard and would like to know if anyone has pictures or other information about the loaders used to load pulpwood sticks on bulkhead flat cars. I remember watching them in the 70's but I can't find a thing on the internet about them. They basically resembled large forklifts with chains used to secure a group of sticks. If anyone has pics or info, please let me know! Thank you in advance..

OldArmy94,
You may want to peruse the 1/87 Vehicle Club's site, especially the logging equipment:

Some of the kit vendors have logging grapples that you may be able to kit-bash into something like what you remember. Didn't see any with chains, though. Good luck.
