Ice Reefers 30's 40's
Posted by trainsrus1 on Saturday, January 10, 2004 2:06 PM
I am begining to model a fleet of wood reefers. I am hopeing to make them CB&Q yellow with a brown roof. All I can find so far is metal reefers in that color. Does any body know if wood reefers on the CB&Q would have been the same colors? What other reefers from the same time period would have been the same colors? Thanks.

Accurail sells a wood Burlington Route reefer, and I believe Athearn does too. Accurail also has them in a three pak.

I'm not sure on this, but thought I read somewhere a couple years back that the roofs were silver. Like I say, I'm not sure but this may be something you want to check into if it's a concern TO YOU. There is also an email list at Yahoo! which is run by the Burlington Route Historical Society you may wi***o join and ask your question. You'll get much better info there than I can give.

The list email group's home page is at:

<http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CBQ/>

The Historical Society web site is at:

<http://www.burlingtonroute.com/>

Hope this is useful to you.

Take care,
