This sounds like an old E.L. Moore technique. He did something the same with thick paper which when shellacked could be cut into pieces and used like siding.

Cut foil into squares and mash it into the serations on a 2 liter soda cap with your thumb. Makes smaller waves . That's how I make tin.

I tried using the real thing with shrinking compound and it created a mess. then a friend used the comb technique and carefully rolled the product into corrugated drainage pipes for a super flatcar load... Everyone is laughing at me.

As I recall there was an idea to do the same thing years ago with a file then the aluminum foil and rub it in one direction only with a scrap pieca of soft wood.

Eperimented with this this morning, and was wondering if anyone else has tried it--
Took some aluminum foil and placed it on a soft surface dull side down, ran the teeth of a comb over it and presto, corrugated siding, put it on structures dull side out and it should look pretty good I would think
