Oh I visited and I loved it. Thanks for giving me the link! I also had a look at the Faux fur grass making technique. Very very nice effect.

Tom, if I'm ever up that way again I'll do it. The only city I've been to in W. Va. is Beckley (sp?) and thats been a while. That is roughly a 12 hour drive for me.

Sounds nice. I would love a shay but i cannot afford one and yes as Nigel said all wheels are powered.

You should probably think about visiting the Cass Scenic RR in Cass, WV sometime. I've heard it's a very nice excursion...and dirt cheap. You'd get a chance to see a REAL Shay, Climax, or Heisler in action, up close. Jarrell, I don't know how far away it would be for you but it might be worth a nice weekend trip for you and the Mrs.

at the only LHS today and what a nice little DC Bachman Spectrum HO Shay it was. All those moving parts even back to the tender which brings up a question. On the prototype, what the tender powered also?
