DCC Power Districts Using Prodigy Avance?
Posted by chiefpilot on Tuesday, May 24, 2005 12:41 PM

Attention all DCC experts....

Does anyone know if it is possible to increase the "capacity" of a Prodigy Advance DCC simply by adding DCC boosters (as additional power districts)?

If so, what types and models of boosters might work and how would they be inter-connected to the Prodigy Advance DCC?

Thanks in advance for any information provided.

Yes, see the MRC Prodigy Advance website or ask Bruce at Litchfield Station or Tony's Trains.

The MRC Power Station 8 is an 8-amp booster that works with any DCC system. It gets the signal from the track power of the unit acting as the command station, rather than a 'command bus' used by Digitrax, Lenz, NCE, and CVP.
You can also use the CVP Booster5 and Booster10 with Prodigy.

Where can I go to get a primer on DCC.
I have a G scale layout, and am looking at the Prodigy (with the 8 amp booster). Is Prodigy the best unit to go with? Is Advance better (won't be running more than 2 trains on the layout).
