Realistic water question

Hello there,

I recently made a lake on my layout with a hydrocal bottom and painted it to be like a lake bottom....I was then attaching scenery around the sides using 50 50 glue water mix....some of the water and glue went to the bottom of the lake....anyways so when I poured on the realistic water from woodland scenics the glue turned white and reverted back to liquid form....will this go away when it dries???

Unfortunately it looks like you are going to have to be the one to tell us. Keep us posted.

So the moral of the story is...mask the water ways with painter's tape before doing the scenic stuff.

Rune, I woud expect it to clear up, but goodness only knows. Please report back.

If it does not clear, you can always repaint the bottom (now the lake top), and repour. It has been done by more than a few of us.

Recently using Realistic water for small ponds ect, the water was poured over fully sceniced banks and bottom. A couple of spots did cloud like you say but eventually dried clear. One area was done w/ several pours- since I wanted murky pond scum look, between layers dry brushed and swirled acrylic brown to olive green was added. the last layer the edges were wet down slightly before pouring and after the pour fine W/S green and burnt grass was sprinkled on. Some of the grass stayed on top the rest sunk into the layer. The effect is rather good looking for the algae/ pond scum look. Note: the last painting of effects I added critter trails through the wet acrylic paint, don't over do though. If not what you like wipe it off w/ wet rag and try again.
I continue to experiment with this W/S water, but it has limitations. I would not use it again for any large and/ or deep pours (use Envirotex for them).
What I like about the resin, is a good level pour w/ having good depth and also submerged objects have no affect on the surface leveling properties- the shinny creap at edges and objects can always be dull painted or sceniced out.
I hope the pour you did is only 1/8" the white glue should clear in a couple days. If too thick a pour w/ this stuff it can take weeks to dry.
