When it comes to canopies and similar things, some of the military modelers do some outstanding work. Next time at a hobby shop check out the Kalmbach book on dioramas. Some good info in there on making detail parts, painting figures, weathering, painting shadows and scene composition. I usually also page through Fine Scale Modeler when I'm at the LHS. There always are a couple of issues each year that have articles in it that I can use for my train modeling.

I did some window A/C units in N scale with pieces of square styrene, paint and some pencil lines to represent the grill. Not perfect, but there's no mistaking what they are.

Willy,
They aren't Yagi's, but Model Memories, LLC :
http://www.info-4u.com/modelmemories/hocity.htm#citydet
also makes TV antennae. You may find some more of their city details useful.

Canopys and TV antennas

While doing some roof detailing today I sat back, had a smoke and noticed something missing. Am modeling HO 50's to 80's (ROCK ISLAND) The buildings needed canopys on front and TV anntennas on roof. I can figure this out and scratchbuild but was wondering if anyone has some tried and true methods and some "don't try this" methods. Also what about window AC?
