Living the dream.
Happy to be of service.

And we learned that the Bear dabbles in 009 scale. I don't think I ever saw the results of this dabblings and I'd be curious to see .

WesternMassModeler95 Boy do I feel silly.
"One difference between pessimists and optimists is that while pessimists are more often right, optimists have far more fun."
No need to feel silly... It would be an easy mistake to make.
I'm glad we were actually helpful with figuring it out.
Sheldon.
WesternMassModeler95 I'm a wee bit confused. Help? You haven’t by any chance got some HOn3 track, 10.5mm gauge? I dabble in OO9, which like Hon30 uses 9mm gauge track. Both HOn3 and HOn30 have a scale ratio of 1:87, 3.5mm to one foot, compared to OO9 which has a scale ratio of 1:76, 4mm to one foot. Cheers, the Bear.

Just checked my NMRA gauge, and yes it is HOn3. Boy do I feel silly.

WesternMassModeler95 I recently got a NMRA HOn30 standard
I think Sheldon has this correct. I have also never heard of NMRA standards for HOn30 trackage. An NMRA N scale gauge should work (I think).
HOn30 and OO9 should both be the same track gauge as N scale. An HOn3 NMRA gauge would be to big.
HOn30 is a scale 30 inch track gauge (not completely accurate), while HOn3 is a scale 36 inch track gauge. I prefer that HOn30 would be abbreviated HOn 2 1/2.
Please let us know what you find out.
WesternMassModeler95 Hi all. I'm kinda curious about HOn30 or OO9 narrow gauge. I've got some OO9 track from Peco. I've seen some say that they are same, but I recently got a NMRA HOn30 standard and when I tried it on the OO9 gauge track it wouldn't fit. I'm a wee bit confused. Help?

I'm a bit confused, to my knowledge the NMRA has no published standards for HOn30, and has never offered a guage for HOn30.
They do have published standards for HOn3, or 36" gauge, and I think years ago they did offer gauges for HOn3.
HOn3 has a gauge of .415" or 10.541 mm, again representing 3 foot/36" gauge, very common narrow gauge in the US, not 30" gauge.
That might explain your problem.......
On30 is very popular in the US as an alternative to On3 which is expensive and requires a lot of building skill, as there are few commercial products. The fact that On30 can use HO drives and wheelsets has made commercial products from Bachmann and others very affordable.
Lastspikemike Gauge may be 9mm in both cases but what about rail profile? Peco makes European rail profile. For North America they make streamline which has North American rail profile. They are different as they are in prototype.

Actually, it looks like HOn30 is slightly bigger than OO9 by a several milimeters.
