Thank you Ed. Cutting the piece and then regluing it to align with the track bed once I have the bride resting on the feet and pier makes sense. Also - I need to get my terminology correrct -- I have built a plate girder bridge for this installation. Also thank you for the links to Wlathers birdge info and the previous MRR discussion thread.
Hi,
From what I gather that extra stone attachment is intended to be cut off if you are using the through-truss type bridge.
If you have a deck-girder bridge you would re-cement it, after trimming off the "gap" to bring the depth up to the height of the beams of the girder plates and bridge shoes.
Just about every bridge installation on a layout is, by nature, a "custom-fit" situation, following "real-world" applications.

Unfortunately, some of the defunct photo hosting sites make linking to past threads pretty useless, but here goes:

Good Luck, Ed
I am unsure of how to position the end of a through girder birdge on Walthers single track cut stone abutment. The resin casting has two steps with the first from the top being a horizontal recessed channel and the second being a projected platform where I would believe the bridge feet are to be set. I am unsure of the structural role of the horizontal recessed channel.
