Trees
Posted by Jeff1952 on Thursday, August 6, 2020 11:16 PM

Hey Guys! Among the commercially-made and handcrafted trees on my layout are about 30-40 Sterling Models Aspens and Pines. Hands down the BEST trees I've ever seen. I know they are no longer making trees, so I'm wondering if anyone has a source for trees of similar quality?

Great that you found a commercial product. Expect to get buried reading about ways on making trees yourself. Whatever method(s) you pick, use different ones to create variety in colors, shapes, sizes, locations, etc.  Mother Nature is a fantastic resource for depicting reality.  It's actually fun!

Never heard of them so looked them up, nice. There is a company out there that dose even better work though and they sell trees still. Canyon Creek but the only do conifers.

You're right rrebell, the Canyon Creek conifers are very nice. But wow they are expensive!! More than twice what I paid for the trees from Sterling! Oh well, when has this ever been an inexpensive hobby? Thanks!
