Well, another glimpse of one of my favorite model railroads. I have followed the UB since the 1970's with eager anticipation of every article, mention or photo.
Curiously, I can't figure out exactly why! I'm not into western scenery, SP inspired paint jobs, diesels and modern railroading. So WHY does Eric and his UB always draw my attention and admiration?
It must be his amazing attention to detail and exquisite modeling and presentation. Yep...........THAT's it!
Congratulations, Eric and I look forward to more in the coming years.
May I add that I love and agree with your comments about the "blight" on the modern railroad scene of grafitti. I find it repulisve and it further has removed any railfanning from my activities.
Thanks to you, Eric, and MR for an excellent article.

I liked the Utah Belt of the past because I do like western scenery and the SP influence on the RR. As UB belt has come into the present, well, I'm more into the olden days now so not into the modern version as much.

I think constantly updating the railroad to reflect the present is unique for model railroaders. It keeps the railroad fresh and interesting, IMO, and the constant research needed to update the layout adds to the change.
