I have the JMRI suite interfaced to my Zephyr using the Locobuffer II. Installation was simple and worked the first time. I have been using the decoder pro application and also have been playing with the throttle design and control. I have been quite happily running my BLI steamer using the PC. I like the ability to custom label the function keys for a specific locomotive.

We are using it to program engines, which is does very well and very quickly compared to hand programming. We also use it to debug our Digitrax system.

We are using the LocoBuffer II from http://www.rr-cirkits.com/ to interface to our computers. The JMRI Decoder Pro runs on a Mac or PC.

I don't have a computer interface yet, but I still plug my locos (working on my 7th decoder install now) into the program, both to keep a record of the setting and to calculate some - you can view the values that it WOULD write to the specific CV even if you can't actually do the programming. A VERY worthwhile program. Check out the Yahoo group JMRI, that's where users and developers hang out and you cab get your questions answered.
