Are you running a commuter train or an long distance train. Both can use 85' cars, but a commuter train would be well lit, while a long distance coach would be darkened  most of the time, with simple nightlights along the floor line or the occasional air-line type reading light over head. If you have green tinted windows, as most long distance trains would have, then a few dim lights at floor level will suffice.

For LION the big trick is keeping them on when the train is stopped. And him runs brightly lit subway cars as well.

I would think a "mail car" lighting kit would NOT work from the stand point of amount of light bulbs or LEDs ,since a mil car would only have a small amount of light compared to a passenger coach.

I would consider the longer "easy peasy" since it requires NO wheel pick -ups for power,...Jerry

Thr easiest will probably be the highest cost but any solution will be. I would check other manufacturers who make lighted cars. Bli, Concor, and mth come to mind. They should have parts available but you will need at the very least new wheel sets, wipers and an LEd strip for thr top of the car

Hi to all

You  people have been a great help with my snow needs now IO have another. I have 9 6/wheel passanger cars that I would like to light up. The big problem is finding and lighting kits for them. I found Walter cornerstone has a kit for the 60' mail handling car on sale as this time. I was wondering if these would look very out of place on the 85' cars?? They are on sale for a real good price about what I paid for the cars way back then.. By chane do any of you have another ways around this.

Thanks to all

Conrad.
