This company offered some neat rock and ballast materials. They are no longer offering the some items in particular the rock and riprap. Is there someone else offering these materials? I am trying to finish a scene and find I am a bit short of material.
The items I am looking for is what they call decomposed granite and sand stone. I have sufficient ballast I think.
Cheers, Ken
I believe Scenic Express has these items in their inventory.

I saw the offerings by Scenic Express but the rock I've been using is a brownish red tending toward red. It was referred to as Decomposed Granite. I have some ballast that is referred to as Granite which is a brownish red color.
I thought I saw items similar to Arizona Rock offered by someone but can't place the name at the moment. A Google search didn't turn up anything usable.
Thanks, RustyKen
Super!!! I'll send you an email with the items I need.
I've been doing business with AZ Rock & Mineral Company for decades. I highly recommend its products.
If not for them I probably wouldn't have the proper CNW 'Pink Lady' ballast color. Around here it's almost all former CNW. To me, my layout wouldn't be right without it. Great product.
Their Pink Lady is indeed excellent.
Another source for real rock ballast is Dale Kuhn who is something of a "basement" manufacturer. He is one of several very small suppliers who more or less hitches a ride on the Great Decals website.

Your web site is having a bit of troubles. I get 404 errors on just about every link I try. In particular, your on line catalog is not available.
I would like to know more about your number 1222 YARD MIX for possible use at the Denver HO Model Railroad Club layout in the Colorado Railroad Museum.
Call Phil; he is fun to talk to. His lives out in the middle of no where and enjoys the company. Phil is originally from the UP of Michigan. Incidentally, his business is up for sale. Would you like to collect and crush rocks? <G>
Welcome to the forums Arizona Rock. Interesting that they found us.

I tried their site and the link to the catalog is bad. How do you find what they have available?
It also shows the company for sale.
Phil has had it up for sale for some time but is still in business.
For those having trouble with getting to the catalog for Arizona Rock & Minerals, try this link:
www.rrscenery.com/?page_id=2037
(Couldn't select the above URL & put the link in it, so click on the 'this' on the line above. But that should get you to the catalog page.
I'm not employed by Phillip (AZ Rock & Min.), but have ordered his stuff (twice from him, once through an online LHS). I think he still says on the website, but he used to have how many packages of the ballast would fit in a USPS Priority Mail box (and thus, you could save unneeded shipping charges).
Hope that helps!
