[ <br /> My father retired form the UP in K.C.Kan. and I worked there until they laid of the fireman. had a lot of American flyer trains with a 4x8 table with 2 levels as a teen and have missed playing with them.. I had seen a N gauge attache' case train layout and thought that would be neat as I am retired and a full time camper . I mentioned it to my wife and come Christmas she gave me an electric train but, it wasn't N or even HO gauge it was a Mark Feldstein desk top model with what looks like a UP 511 American with 2 passenger coaches. runs on 4 AA batteries and has 16 pieces of track with a 2 foot dia. ..I am sure you are familiar with this unit .. now the question was... where to put it.. A 4x8 or even a 4X4 board would be nice but no room in the camper for it. then I set down at the computer and wow, there it was,, now the train goes around the PC with 2 pieces of straight track and a popcycle covered bridge on the back which supports the track that didn't quite fit on the table. snad paper makes the roads and cig. carton scratch cutouts make some of the buildings.. our daughter gave me some items form HO gauge which blend well for the town.. the country is a pastry coating that came on a cake with spagetti for fencing to keep in the cows. toothpicks play a major part in bridge, and towers. This is not as elaborate as the layouts in your magazine, but has provided me with a lot of fun during these winter months here at the lake of the Ozarks.. my total investment so far is $23.00 for the train and $22.00 for accessories.. but may have to spend another $50 for a MRC sound station..
