We worked till midnight Tues trying to complete some of the structures for Thurmond so we could take pictures Wensday for Art's presentation at the C&O Historical Society Meeting Next week
Still lots of work to do but it's a good start
This is what Thurmond looked like last week
Wensday
I built the Engine House Mock Up,The commissary on the left and the three small buildings on the lower left I finished the bunkhouse that Andrew started {the building just to the right of the loco} Art did the Thurmond Depot. Andrew did the bridge. I built the East End yard office and outhouse {small buildings up by the caboose} I also made the Tunnel portal also made the loading platform behind the Depot for the freight house which is not yet complete
Art and Andrew did all the scenery work on the Rend subdivision and Andrew made the bridge
Art did a great job scratchbuilding the Thurmond Depot
Andrew did a super job scratch building the New River Bridge
Art's nicely weathered H-8

Nice work...would love to see the track plan too!
I'm modeling the Hawks Nest Branch (SubDivision) - just a bit upriver from Thurmond of course, from Hawks Nest to Ansted. Thurmond/Hinton and Handley are represented by staging due to the space limits I have (roughly 10 ft x 10 ft). Operationally 2 scheduled manifests and 2 coal 'drags' fun on the modeled portion of the main, plus the locals and Short Horn & Long Horn mine runs on the branch.
One day I'll have to make the C&O convention.
Charles
Paul
Thanks for the complement
I live in Houston

Nice stuff. That old photo looks like a lot of the stuff I've have been working from.

Building the Rock Ridge Railroad with the slowest construction crew west of the Pecos.
Beautiful work, Terry! I really like the look of the layout! Is this a club layout? I just love seeing a coal region modeled - maybe because I love seeing long drags of hoppers full of coal.
Keep those pics comin', Terry. And high greens on the progress...

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.
To put it lightly, skills like this are truely inspirational!
Excellent job Terry!

Thanks Tom I'll pass along the complements
The layout belongs to a friend Art Borman who only lives 5 blocks away
We didn't know each other till last years open house tour
"Wierd"
Andrew who also does a lot of the work doesn't have a layout
because he lives in an apartment
We have work sessions almost weekly
Mostly at Art's as my layout is small and almost complete
But all 3 of us are C&O Fans
