In the past 2 years, Trains magazine has featured a few great articles on coal mining railroads. Look thru the back of a Trains magazine for past issues with coal mining articles. Or let me know if you can't find anything and I can sent you a few magazines that I have with some coal train articles in them. Model Railroader also had a modern N scale coal layout that you can build featured in on of their 2002 magazines last year. <br /> Pete
