Walk Around Control Caution

I installed a 6 conductor phone plug extension for my MRC Tech 4 Rail Power 350. I used a Radio Shack Techcessories (TM) 6 conductor Modular Wall plate (279-8390) Everything went well up to the running test. No pilot light, and no action. Checking everything carefully, I discovered that the wall plate had been wired in the factory in a mirror image configuration to the wires in the extension cable (and the MRC original cable). So, I re-wired White for Blue, Black for Yellow, Red for Green, Green for Red, Yellow for Black, and Blue for White. Perfect!
Just thought I would let you know, in case you try the same equipment and it doesn't work.
Anyone else found a similar factory misinstal?

A wall plate is wired differently, depending on whether it's intended for use with a telephone or computer network, since there are two different color coding standards involved.

That's correct. The cable you purchased was wired correctly for what it was sold for by Radio Shack. You attempted to us it for a purpose it wasn't made for. Luckly nothing shorted out and fried.

So, how does one connect an extension to the MRC Tech 4 walk around? There must be something to plug in to

Also, given the Radio Shack extension cable (Part 279-8484) doesn't match the wall plate wiring, how does anyone plug a business (6 connector) phone into it and achieve success?
