What I have noticed is when you print a snapshot of the whole layout the track does come out light, but I would not have called it illegible. I printed a few pages full size, and they seemed like they would be easy to work with.

It drove me crazy at first, but after reviewing the demo examples a few times it got easier and easier. There are still things that happen that I don't understand, and things that I am sure could be done better, but I am getting what I am after. A 3-D view would be nice, but I'd rather spend the money elsewhere. Every now and then I check elevations whaere things cross to make sure I haven't whacked something, and spen some time "visualizing" what the contours should look like. I guess I won't really know 'til the construction starts!
