PROTOTYPES of OUR OWN...Introducing the Fort Frances Central RR & Canadian Shield Rwy.!

Here is a map of our "made up" system:

Orange represents the "Fort Frances Central" a bridge line connecting american roads to International Falls where it interchanges with Canadian National. CNR, Northern Pacific, and Great Northern all hold 33% each in its stock.

Blue represents the "Canadian Sheild Rwy." a class 2 hauler with a mainline from Kenora (a.k.a. Rat Portage) to Winnipeg where it interchanges with Canadian Pacific. The yard at Kenora has an interchange with the Fort Frances Central and its link to the US of A. The lines that head north serve the rich oil deposits which sprung up and created a need for this line to exist. The Line is partially owned by the Oil companies in this part of Ontario and the Kenora Chamber of commerce.

Myself (canadianshield) model the Canadian Shield and my good buddy (fearincognito) models the Fort Frances Central. Has anyone else on the forum made up a story for their rail line? we Wanna hear yours and want your input it filling in the details.

[#welcome] aboard the forum, Tyler. Nice to see my old stomping grounds represented in model railroading. (I grew up in Rainy River, ON and have friends in Fort Frances and Dryden.) Perhaps you need a branchline running from Fort Frances to Winnipeg via Rainy River. [swg]

Colin ---------- There's just no end to cabooseless trains.
