Wiring advise
Posted by SMassey on Sunday, December 11, 2005 11:13 AM
OK Track plan is done but I need a little advise on wiring the reverse loops. I will be using a Digitrax DCC system and a PM42 for power managment / polarity reversing. the ptoblem is where. I have 2 different ideas and wanted you guys out there to give me feedback on what would be the better one or ideas on another method.

South Massey V1:

Green is district #1
Black is district #2
Red auto reversed #1
Blue Auto reversed #2

South Masset V2:

Black District #1
Red auto reverse #1
Blue auto reverse #2

Will I have problems with my buisness being on the auto reversing sections? how will that effect locos sitting there or working there? I can isolate them so if that is a problem I can fix that.

I have not layed any track yet this all is still in the planning stages so changing things is no biggy. So lemme have it everyone, what do you think?

Mike,

I think I like V2 because you have longer reversing sections. With DCC the phase change is pretty much "transparent" and wont affect any other locos working in the A/R section. Just so two locos don't trip the A/R unit at exactly the same instant.

Thanks Jim,
Any one else have any input for me? I thought I would have had a little more wesponse about this. Did I confuse any one with the discriptions of the colored areas? Well any way let me know please if you have any ideas that can make this layout better, either in the layout itself or the wiring I am open to all suggestions.
