I know this subject has probably been discussed to death, so I will apologize in advance, but I am about to put cork roadbed down on a "tabletop"-type layout. My "primary advisor" has strongly suggested using caulk to attach the cork. Any other suggestions, or is this really the best way of doing this? Thanks very much.

Irenee, Iv'e used Elmers white household glue with good results. Make sure you weight it down while it dries (bricks work well). Good luck

You can also use small nails.. Just be sure they have a head on them so the cork doesn't pull through.. What are you fastining it to??

I've used caulk, white glue and nails. I think caulk is the best because it provides the most sound deadening of the three. Since white glue dries hard, it transmits more of the sound through to the plywood.
I started using caulk to attach the track to the roadbed and had good results, too.

I have used nails, white glue, and caulk. Caulk is quicker than white glue and better than nials.
