What a shame to lose your work. It's a good reminder to all of us, though, to back up the info on our computers, including model RR stuff. When you have a lot of files and some (like layout designs) that are many different versions of an idea progressing, a back-up program can make it easier than just copying to CDs. I happen to use Norton Ghost, but there are many others.

Regards,

IF you have a lot of work invested into these drawings, you could probably get the data recovered, there are companies that specialize in this and you can send them the old drive and they will repair the drive in order to get the data off of it and put it on a new drive for you, I have had this done for work several times. Just do a google search for "data recovery services" and you will find things. shane

Thank you, I only need i driectory recovered. This was a HP multi-Media. 2nd one that died the same way. Update from HP using backweb.ex_ then reboot for update, then invalid media on the drive. The opinion of the guys from the train clun was, gald to see it gone. It was an old plan from a 1977 MRM that I reworked for my area. The guys want me to go with an around the room with some islands. The space is 22ftx18ft OR i can use the full 22ft by 79ft of the basement.
Oh well at least the car show is over.
Again sorry for the rambel, but thank you for the idea.
