Forced perstective with steel trestles

Building the Keddie Wye Bridge, using Micro Engeneering 150 tall steel viaduct for the rear or the trestle that heads north.

My question is, being this bridge curves away, thinking of making the furthest (right one) a bit narrower then the left side ( approx 1/2 inch), perhaps giving it a longer look. This bridge is 38 inches long and will curve away from the viewer located behind the front (East west) main line trestle that curves toward the viewer, of which I will scrach build the bents to get close to my pictures.

One person says it will look narrower and another thinks it will give some depth, of course its hard to tell without a bit of scenery.

I think it is a good idea, but only if subtly done. If you were to narrow the far end (if one end going to be substantially closer to the viewer) by about 5 or 6 mm (1/4"), it should have the desired effect, but only if the deck is viewed near eye height. If the eye is too high above the deck, you do run the risk of having someone point it out. Of course, the discerning eye may also detect that the rails seem to stay in gauge/perspective, unlike the railings and/or ties.

With the rails staying in gauge and using the ME bridge flex track, I see no advantage to modifying the girders. If you do change the girder spacing, I believe you would open a can of worms. The tower assemblies would also need to be changed accordingly. Proper scenicing and position should should solve the problem.

I agree with Bob K. Your trains running through a forced perspective bridge will appear to get larger the closer they get to the modified end. Scenery and position should enhance the effect. 38" bridge is quite big - that's about 300 scale feet.
