Walthers Code 83
Posted by claycts on Monday, August 8, 2005 12:56 PM
Anybody been able to get this stuff? I need a bunch of special stuff, 2 1/2 wye, 7 1/2 curved, #6 curved, # 6 1/2 curved etc. I found some in a LHS but the online store (Internet) is talking 6 to 8 weeks. The LHS has had this stuff on order since FEB. Open to all ideas at this point. I have NEVER hand spiked track so that is out of the question.
Thank you!!

I think the only thing you can do is to send a lot of emails to every shop you can find on the net and ask. I did it and managed to find everything I wanted. And that was in a time period when everything at Walthers was backordered. And don't forget eBay.

I've noticed that more and more, Walthers is out of stock on quite a few things as of late. I've bought from a couple of online sites and would do so again confidently:

Check out http://www.modelrailwaypo.com/
They do not have online ordering but their ad is online and they have an 800 number.
They show Walthers Code 83 on the second page of the ad. I know from personal experience that they usually have it in stock.

I bought a bunch a couple of months ago. Try:

http://store.standardhobby.com/

Between the two of them they had a pretty good selection. I've got to order another 2 #4 LH turnouts myself.
