Can anyone tell me what manufacturer makes building flats in N scale?

Any of the Design Preservation Models line can be used as flats, as could any of the "modular" type kits. For that matter, any building could have some walls cut off of it to create flats. That way you are not limited to just whats available, but you can use just about any building kit. You could even get 2 to 4 flats per kit, depending on how you cut them. Thats some bang for the buck! [8D]

Thanks pcarrell, I appreciate your response and the suggestions, I think that is the route I will go. I have worked with DPM buildings before and they offer a lot of variety and kitbash easily...Thanks again

Try this, take a kit and use the front and back as flats, Works well, also the flats at a slight angle look better, saw it in a MRM article.

Here's another idea to stretch your $$.

Look at your scenery closely. If there are areas that have only the fronts of buildings showing, and another area where only the backs of buildings are showing (trackside) then...

Use plain styrene for the backs of the buildings whose fronts only show and use those backs in the other area for building flats. (or vice versa.)
