FALLER CAR SYSTEM
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, August 7, 2005 8:02 AM
I'm new to the game and was starting up my first layout and was wondering about the car system. As I understand it it runs with a wire under the road and the cars follow the wire around the roads where you have put it.

My question is what kind of wire can be used because I don't have the money yet for the car system yet but would like to have the wire set up for later when I can get enough cash for it without haveing to pull up the roads all over again

thank any input would be great!

There was a topic, probably a year ago, on this subject. You might try the forum search
to try and find it. If I recall correctly, there were a lot of responses. Maybe your answer
is in there. Good luck, Dave

I'm not sure what wire you can substitute for the wire that comes in the set but I do believe you can just buy the wire seperatley from the set. Try asking your local hobby shop if they can order it for you or search the net for online shops that carry it if they cant.

The system they use is magnetic, so I'm guessing any steel wire would do - i.e. anything that attracts a magnet
