Overfiling foam

Was going to make a slope downward across a river and onto adjacent land. Unfortunately, I over filed and didn't like the results. I brought the foam back to grade using sculptamold and am wondering how this will hold up over time. I will run track over it and apply balast. It seems safe, but wonder if anyone foresees a problem. As has been said before "be careful with filing or sanding foam". Another lesson learned.

I have no idea how the sculptamold will hold up, although if it's not too bigh an area it wouldn't seem to be a problem to me. Another idea you might want to consider is to simply cut out a block of foam slightly bigger than the area you want to redo and glue in a new block of foam and refile/reshape.

I actually like egmurphy's idea better than the sculptamold. It seems that the sculptamold would be brittle compared to reshaping another piece of foam (That's how they repair dents in your car. Fill it and sand it.)

Thanks for the reply. I considered doing that but was hoping I could fill. I'll wait for a few more replies and if no other suggestions, I'll get out the cutting knife.

I've used sculpamold and love it strong,sandable works great, but takes a while to dry!

You could try canned spray foam to back fill the area that you filed, once dry file it down again to your liking.
